The ZARAH public history resources are designed to spark curiosity about histories that are as unknown as they are intriguing. The open-access book, translated into a dozen regional languages, and the English-language website share rich knowledge, provide reliable information, and translate complex scholarly knowledge into living history.
Women’s Labour Activism, our public history website (launched in September 2025), brings together life stories, activism and networks of women, presenting them in a richly illustrated way. The website amplifies the contributions of women from the ZARAH region to the struggle for a fairer society. It is designed for anyone curious about women’s history and labour activism, from students and teachers to activists and digital historians.

Appearing in 12 languages of the region and in English, the book wants to encourage labour activists, community groups, everybody who teaches and wants to learn, trade unionists, and rebels of all generations to make a difference.
